A Dialogue between a Popish Priest and an English Protestant. Wherein the Principal Points and Arguments of Both Religions are truly proposed, and fully examined

London, Religious Tract Society, [perhaps mid-1800s] ('Reprinted from an early edition').

Duodecimo, xvi, 164 pages.

Contemporary half calf and marbled papered boards, with a contrasting gilt-lettered leather title-label on the spine; leather a little rubbed and lightly worn at the extremities; a very good copy.

Matthew Poole (1624-1679) was an English Nonconformist theologian and biblical commentator (Wikipedia). This copy has 'George Fife Angas' written in pencil on the front endpaper in what we know to be a later secretarial hand, indicating that the book came originally from his personal library.
