Sydney, The Australian Ex Libris Society (printed at The Beacon Press), 1934.
Large octavo, pages with 19 tipped-in bookplates (including 6 in monochrome and 5 with two or more colours, with the one for Frank E. Lane extensively hand-coloured).
Cord-bound overlapping green-pictorial card covers with wide French flaps; pictorial title-label (almost certainly a woodcut design by Feint) mounted on the front cover; extremities lightly rubbed and bumped; minor signs of use (see below); an excellent copy (the bookplates are in fine condition) with the plain opaque patterned-paper dustwrapper (lightly sunned and chipped).
Number 116 of 150 copies signed by Adrian Feint; it was presumably hand-set and hand-printed by Harrie Mortlock at his Beacon Press. The contents include two essays ('Bookplates of Adrian Feint' by Carlyle S. Baer, and 'Adrian Feint and His Work' by John Lane Mullins), a checklist of 145 bookplates from 1922 to 1933, and an annotated bibliography. Provenance: Johannes Larsen, with his small name-stamp on the title page and his pictorial bookplate on the front flap of the dustwrapper (this Australian bookplate and its artist, M.G. Wood, do not appear in Peake's 'Australian Personal Bookplates'). Larsen has placed a small red X next to 27 bookplates in the checklist, and pencilled in details of the publications where a handful are to be found.
