Original cloth and lightly worn; cloth on the front joint broken; slight loss to silverfish at the head of the spine and an old repair to the foot; cancelled RGSSA stamp on the title-page; a small section (60 × 160 mm) on rainfall excised from one leaf; comparatively mild signs of handling; overall a very good copy.

Provenance: Thomas Gill (1849-1923), public servant and local historian, with his signature on the flyleaf and index page, and his manuscript amendments on five pages.
