14th Field Ambulance. Australian Imperial Force. La Première Célébration Anniversaire. Au Front, La Belle France, Le 25 Fevrier 1917 [a menu]

Octavo (176 × 115 mm), a printed menu card folded to form 4 pages, comprising the cover-title, the programme for the 3 pm concert by 'l'Orchestre des Grenadiers Guards', the bill of fare, and the programme for the 'Concert de Smoke | 7.30 pm | par les poilus de l'Ambulance'.

Some foxing and a few marks; three vertical creases where folded; overall a very good copy.

The last page carries the pencilled signature of 10031 Private Vivian Benjamin Cook Grenness, a member of the 14th Field Ambulance. The menu for the dinner, 'Servi dans la hutte Galvinisse', includes some topically renamed dishes: 'Boeuf Roti Concannon'; 'Pommes de terre peut-être'; 'Fruits divers pinchés'; 'Crème Sulphuris'; 'Fromage aviateur - très haut!'; and 'Cigares Tres bons - big ones'.
