Light brown cloth (with the heart-shaped pictorial paper onlay of desert sand-grains on the front cover), top edge gilt, bottom edge uncut; endpapers foxed and offset; a tear to the stub panel of the large map (extending only slightly into the printed surface) expertly sealed; an excellent copy.

A colonial edition in blue cloth was published in 1909.
