'An enquiry into the origins of Islamic art presented in the form of one of the most entertaining travel books of modern times' ('Oxford Dictionary of National Biography'). The account of the events and impressions of the first day should suffice to prove the point ... 'Venice, August 20th, 1933. - Here as a joy-hog: a pleasant change after that pension on the Guidecca two years ago.
