Craftsmen of the Australian Army. The Story of RAEME [the Corps of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers]
Bathurst, Crawford House Press, 1992.
Folio, xvi, 333 pages with maps and over 150 illustrations (from photographs) plus 23 colour plates.
Papered boards; a fine copy with the fine dustwrapper.
Inscribed and signed (indecipherably) by a Brigadier who was DGEME (Director General of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) presumably at the time the book was published. We have seen reference online to a limited edition of 250 copies; if this is correct, the copy offered for sale here may be the 'unlimited' edition. Given that the two pages of acknowledgements start with thanks to many people for assistance: the number 'who contributed in writing, by agreeing to be interviewed, by lending photographs, or in other ways, is approximately four hundred', a print run limited to a mere 250 copies would be highly unlikely. In any event, the book is scarce by any definition.
