A collection of 86 bookplates, mainly by Australian artists for Australian subjects
Each bookplate is loose-mounted on card, using clear photocorners, and all are housed in archival sleeves in a custom-made cloth-covered ring-bound album, housed in a slipcase. Of the 86 plates, 15 are signed, and 7 are printed in colour; a few have minimal traces of adhesion on the verso, one has marginal creases, and only one has been slightly damaged when removed from a mount; for the rest, the condition is uniformly fine.
The artists best represented are Adrian Feint (6, with 2 signed), Roy Davies (6, with one signed), Lionel Lindsay (6, with one signed), Philip Neville Barnett (at least 5, with 4 signed), Philip M. Litchfield (9, with one signed), and Karna Birmingham (6, with one signed). Other notable artists represented include Norman Lindsay (2), Pixie O'Harris (2), George Perrottet (3), John Goodchild (2), Ella Dwyer (one signed), D.H. Souter, Ainslie Roberts, and Hugh McCrae. There are also two signed plates (for Keith Wingrove) by Mark Severin (1906-1987), the Belgian artist long resident in England. Further details are available on request.
