Nineteenth-century full green morocco extensively decorated in gilt on both sides and the spine (in compartments, with a contrasting title-label), gilt inner dentelles, marbled edges and marbled endpapers; leather lightly scuffed and rubbed on the extremities; spine a little sunned; edges a little marked; plate foxed, with associated foxing to adjacent leaves; trifling signs of handling; an excellent copy.
Inscribed on an initial blank to 'W.H. Cooper from his friend Richard Stephens on his leaving Eton, November 1837'; Cooper's armorial inkstamp is on the facing page (the verso of the flyleaf).
