Flush-cut pictorial red card covers a little rubbed, creased and marked; spine a little sunned, with two closed splits across it; light stain to the rear cover (barely visible from the outside, and impacting slightly on the last leaf); minor restoration to the leading edge of the folding map (two-thirds of the thin strip printed with the northing numbers had been chipped away, with no loss to the map proper); trifling signs of use and age; overall a very good copy.

The first edition of a scarce Baedeker, and the only edition in German (one in English appeared in 1939).
