Flush-cut quarter cloth and pictorial papered boards with a circular colour plate (85 mm in diameter, slightly blemished) mounted on the front cover and a smaller circular illustration printed in sepia on the rear cover; corners very lightly rubbed; rear cover slightly marked and scored; contemporary gift inscription (Christmas 1918); essentially a fine copy.
Muir 2744 (satisfying all the requirements for the true first edition, one of 5000 copies printed; '23,000 copies had been sold by early 1922').
