Publisher's gilt-pictorial morocco with contrasting leather title-labels on the spine; covers a little rubbed and bumped at the extremities; front inner hinge expertly reinforced; occasional light foxing; contemporary ownership signature (John Brown) on the first half-title, and the inkstamp of 'Shrimpton's Tattersalls Hotel & Horse Bazaar, Ballarat' on a few pages in both items; short tear to one leaf expertly sealed; trifling signs of use (including some possibly relevant pencilling); a very good copy.

The foot of the front cover is stamped in gilt 'Joe Gardner | Railway Place | Malvern'.
