Redgrave lived in Australia in the early part of the century, then continuously here from 1908 until his death in obscurity in 1922. His chequered career and unsettled personal life included three marriages (with children from two of them, and a son from another relationship). One of his sons was Sir Michael Redgrave, father of Vanessa, Lynn and Corin.
