Melbourne, Lansdowne (Lansdowne Editions after the first one), 1973 to 1981 (as detailed above).
Folio, full calf ('Birds of Prey', 'Pigeons and Doves'); half calf and gilt-decorated cloth ('Birds of the Australian Swamps', both volumes); and quarter calf and cloth ('Finches'; 'Robins and Wrens'); the leather in most instances is very lightly rubbed at the extremities, the boards of 'Birds of Prey' are bowed, the front cover of 'Pigeons and Doves' has some small light surface indentations; a few other trifling blemishes do not detract from the overall appeal of these attractive plate books.
All volumes are signed and numbered copies of editions limited to 500 copies (or just 350 copies for the book on finches). All volumes carry the number 53 and the bookplate of J. Mark Bonnin, with the exception of the second volume of 'Birds of the Australian Swamps' (number 50, without the bookplate).
