Allahabad, Pioneer Press, 1912.

Quarto, [ii], vi, 252, lxxii pages plus 2 frontispieces, 24 pages of plates and a large folding plan.

Green cloth lettered and decorated in gilt on the front cover; cloth a little rubbed, marked and scuffed, with some bumps to the extremities; top and bottom edges a little marked; contemporary gift inscription on the front free endpaper (and some later unrelated pencilling on the rear flyleaf); a very good copy.

The inscription is 'To W.A.R. from A.H.S. Meerut, U.P. India 29.1.1912'. An account of the third (and final) Delhi Durbar, held in December 1911; previous Durbars were held in 1877 and 1903. This one commemorated the coronation in England a few months earlier of King George V and Queen Mary, and their proclamation as Emperor and Empress of India. It was 'the greatest of the three, because the Sovereign and his Consort were present at it in person to revive the old splendours of India's imperial capital' (introduction).
