With the armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Wheewall Holden (1885-1947), the influential motor-body builder whose business became a household name. An excess of glue was applied to the bookplate when it was first mounted on the pastedown. The flyleaf adhered to it and was subsequently damaged when separation was attempted - a pity, but a trifling blemish in the overall scheme of things.
