Original gilt-pictorial cloth a little scuffed and slightly rubbed at the extremities, with minor wear to the corners and the ends of the (sunned) spine; blemish to the cloth at the head of the front cover (where an old paper library label was removed long ago); top marginal corner of the frontispiece a little creased and dusty; overall a very good copy.

With the early name-plate of Edward Charles Stirling.
