Original half calf and cloth; cloth a little marked; leather a little rubbed (mainly at the extremities); endpapers, adjacent blank leaves and the first and last leaves of text foxed; tiny stain to the leading edge and margin of the first ten leaves; a very good copy with the contemporary rubber stamp of C.B. Hill, Pharmaceutical Chemist, 128 Rundle Street, Adelaide on two early blanks.
For the first 123 double-page openings, the left-hand page contains an alphabetical list of drugs; pages 234-291 contain lists of sundries, arranged alphabetically by broad subject headings (such as bandages, oils, sauces, soaps and varnish). Very few prices have been filled in.
