Original olive-green cloth (lettered in gilt on the front cover), retaining the original pictorial card covers; cloth a little marked and bumped; card a little discoloured around the edges; some offsetting to the advertisements; endpapers and pages adjacent to the card covers a little discoloured; overall, an excellent copy.
Provenance: 'Mr A.W. Piper | with the compliments of | Goodwin & Co.' is written in ink on the front free endpaper. Arthur W. Piper (1865-1936) was a South Australian Supreme Court judge (and a book collector too).
