Later binder's cloth (lettered in gilt on the spine) retaining the original printed wrappers; minor conservation to the wrappers; small bottom corner-tip missing from the rear wrapper and last leaf; mild signs of age and use; a very good copy.

An important collection of memoirs, with a contemporary presentation inscription in ink from the Old Colonists' Association to the SA Chamber of Manufactures at the head of the front wrapper (struck out with indelible pencil). Provenance: Sir Thomas Meek Ramsay (1907-1995), of Kiwi boot polish fame, with his blindstamp on the top corner of the front wrapper ('T.M.R. | Library of | T.M. Ramsay').
