Inscribed (in part, 'In a weak moment I promised you a copy of this little book - now I apologise for the infliction') and signed by the author under his real name, John L. Preece (of the Adelaide bookselling family). The 'story of the little ships of the Royal Australian Navy - the Naval Auxiliary Patrol (one-time luxury yachts) and the Fairmiles' in northern Australian waters during WW2.
