Oversize quarto (485 × 405 mm), [62] pages with embossed gilt title pages and text ornaments plus 60 colour plates with tissue-guards.

Quarter cloth and papered boards; sides elaborately blocked in gilt, red and white; corners a little bumped and worn; some foxing internally (chiefly to the tissue-guards); front free endpaper and a few tissue-guards a little creased (one with a short tear); an excellent copy nevertheless, with the very good dustwrapper (slightly worn and foxed), housed in the original carton (split and lacking part of one side, but in decent condition).

An unusually pleasing copy of this lavish monograph on Armenian miniatures from the 10th to 17th centuries. The large and attractive plates include printing in gold inks to reproduce the illuminations of the original manuscripts. The text is in Armenian and Russian.
