It includes Terry Tao's masters thesis (Flinders University, 1992; signed); his doctoral thesis (Princeton University, 1996); five of his publications (one signed, all with family provenance); manuscript material, including his 1992-93 Princeton University Academic Planner; and a number of books presented to him, most relating to his participation in the Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth at Johns Hopkins University at the age of ten.

Terry's brother, Trevor Chi-Yuen Tao, is an international chess master, mathematician, pianist and composer. Also included are his doctoral thesis, publications and some exercise books, and two copies of the detailed case study relating to his early diagnosis with autism (one signed by the author, and a proof copy).

Other items relate to the third brother, Nigel (also a talented mathematician); their father, Dr Billy Tao, a paediatric immunology and allergy specialist (including his doctoral thesis and a volume of observations relating to laboratory experiments); and several works relating to gifted children.
