Buckram with a paper title-label on each spine; top edges gilt on the rough, others uncut; covers a little flecked, marked, and lightly sunned (chiefly about the spines); front and rear covers of the second volume bubbled; two paper labels lightly chipped, others slightly marked; free endpapers tanned; a very good set (internally excellent).

'This edition of North's translation of Amyot's French version of Plutarch's Lives is printed from the first edition (1579) with the addition of 15 lives from the third edition (1603)'. Number 1116 of a total of 1550 sets. [5 items].
