'When "Octobriana and the Russian Underground" was published in 1971, it garnered remarkable media attention for a book ostensibly about a Comic book movement - remarkable in the sense that it attracted the attention of not only comic book enthusiasts but also that of a general Western public enthralled by the "Spy vs. Spy" atmosphere of the early 1970s. On the occasion of its publication, articles sprang up in newspapers and magazines across Europe, including London's "Daily Telegraph", which gave it front page coverage' (Bomb Magazine website).
