Cloth; essentially a fine copy with the rare Dorothy Wall-designed dustwrapper slightly chipped, creased and rubbed, and a little sunned on the spine.
The war experiences of the author, 'Nursing Sister with the AIF, 1915-18'. She was attached to the 1st Australian General Hospital, at Heliopolis from January 1915 to March 1916, then in France. This copy is inscribed and signed 'Very sincerely yours, May Tilton 1939' in ink on the half-title (not to be confused with the facsimile signed inscription on the frontispiece). A contemporary gift inscription ('To Dora, for a Happy Birthday, 1939') is written in ink on the pastedown. Not in Dornbusch; Fielding and O'Neill, page 233.
