Charters Towers, 'Presented to the Charters Towers Patriotic Committee, by the Staff and Proprietary of "The Northern Miner"', 1915.
Large quarto, [16] pages with numerous illustrations (including 4 pages of portrait photographs, being one page of 'Our Fallen Heroes', and three of 'Our Wounded Heroes').
Two-colour pictorial wrappers creased, chipped and torn, with minor loss to the rear cover; staples rusty; some signs of age and use; overall, a presentable copy.
An advertisement for the souvenir appeared in the local paper, 'The Northern Miner' on Thursday 2 September 1915: 'Patriotic Day Souvenir.... To be sold for one shilling each.... a rare production, which contains Portraits! Portraits! of Towers wounded and fallen heroes at the Dardanelles, etc.... Secure a copy! To-day at Town Hall! ... to avoid being disappointed'. It is even rarer today, with no copies located in Trove.
