With the pictorial bookplate ['Gang forward'] of Edward Charles Stirling on the front pastedown, his pencilled ownership signature on the half-title (inscribed 'S.S. Pekin, 1885'), and his pencilled notes on two pages at the rear, and with his occasional pencilled emphases.
