Black leather girdle binding, with the boards stamped in gilt and blind; a fine copy in the original cloth-bound book-form box with gilt paper title-labels. The box also contains a companion volume (96 pages) with a transcription of the original Latin, a German translation, and commentary in German by Leonard E. Boyle OP and Jean-Claude Schmitt.

A fine facsimile of the 'Ways of Prayer of St Dominic', reproducing folios 5r-15v of the Codex Rossianus 3 (1) in the Vatican Library. The original illuminated manuscript was produced around 1330 in the south of France; the binding reproduces a girdle binding of the period. This is Number XXIV of 80 copies numbered in Roman numerals, not for sale; the standard edition comprised 900 copies numbered in Arabic numerals. Volume 82 in the series Belser-Faksimile-Editionen aus der Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana. This copy comes from the collection of a friend and student of Fr Leonard E. Boyle OP (Prefect of the Vatican Library and a contributor to the companion volume), and was almost certainly a gift from him.
