Exit Praying. An Apologia [complete in three volumes]
Norwood, The Author, 1993, 1994 and 1995.
Large octavo, three volumes, 162, 211, and 163 pages with numerous illustrations from photographs.
Pictorial card covers; bottom edges a trifle shelf-marked; essentially a fine set.
The second and third volumes are signed and warmly inscribed in ink by the author to local dance specialist, scholar, writer and critic Alan Brissenden (1932-2020); a photocopy of Osborn's obituary is loosely inserted. Peter Osborn (1914-1999) had distinguished careers on the stage (where he corresponded with Terence Rattigan), and in the navy (where he commanded 'HMS Calpe'), before studying for the priesthood. He 'was a priest for two decades at St Cyprian's in Melbourne Street, North Adelaide, as a chaplain at St Peter's College, and as the archbishop's chaplain for the arts in Adelaide' (from the obituary).
