The Bendigo Goldfield. Resources of the 'Central Area'

Melbourne, McCarron, Bird & Co., 1917.

Octavo, [ix] (advertisements), [vi], 236, [3] (advertisements) page plus a large folding 'Plan of Leases'; the pagination for the advertisements includes the endpapers.

Cloth a little mottled, bubbled and bumped at the extremities; acidic paper tanned (and slightly brittle) throughout; trifling signs of use and age; a very good copy.

Tipped in on the flyleaf is the 'with compliments' slip of Edward Dyason Pty. Ltd. (a local firm of mining engineers). Bendigo-born Edward Clarence Evelyn Dyason (1886-1949), company director, economist, mining engineer, stockbroker ... and also 'militant pacifist' and 'Always an internationalist, in search of the cause and treatment of international disharmony' ('Australian Dictionary of Biography': we would have liked to reprint the entire article).
