A contemporary fine binding of three-quarter teal levant morocco and marbled boards by J. van West, retaining the original wrappers (with the spine mounted on a guard at the rear); spine lettered in gilt; top edge gilt, others uncut (and partially unopened); covers a little sunned; trifling signs of use and age; an excellent copy.
Number 1044 of a total edition of 1230 copies, this being one of 1000 copies on 'vélin de Rives' paper (numbered 231-1230). The fifth title in the L'Intelligence series.
