Crime and Criminals or, Reminiscences of the Penal Department in Victoria
Ballarat, Berry, Anderson & Co., Printers, 1890 [first edition].
Octavo, [viii], 300 pages plus 2 plates; the last page is the colophon, and the last leaf is effectively the rear flyleaf.
Pebble-grain red cloth (lettered in gilt on the spine) a little rubbed, bumped and marked, with slight wear to two corners; edges a trifle marked; front flyleaf removed; rear endpaper offset; inner hinges cracked but firm; tips of the bottom corners of two consecutive leaves (pages 93-96) blemished (presumably a production flaw - affected by acid?), with an ownership stamp on one of these pages; trifling signs of use and age; a very good copy.
