Decorated cloth a little flecked, marked and slightly rubbed; top edge slightly foxed and darkened; endpapers, first and last page a little tanned; inner hinge starting (but binding remains sound); a small tear to the top edge of pages 207-208; a very good copy.

Warmly inscribed to fellow missionary Walter Hutley, and dated (19 March 1898) and signed by the author on page 5 (the Preface). With the later Rose Lowcay-designed bookplate of her husband, collector Harold Sheard mounted on the front pastedown.
