Melbourne, Sun Books, 1972 (first edition).
Octavo, iv, 17 [and] iv, 27 pages (bound together, head-to-tail, with one cover and about half the book for each poet, with the book to be turned on its head when starting at the other end).
Pictorial card covers lightly rubbed on the spine and slightly marked; inside front covers and the adjacent title pages tanned, with some lighter tanning to the text paper throughout; overall, an excellent copy.
Inscribed, signed and with sketched self-portraits by both poets on their respective title pages. Both authors were participants in Writers' Week at the Adelaide Festival of Arts in Adelaide in March 1972. The recipient, Ethel Payne, was the manager of the Co-op Bookshop, the official booksellers at the event. Ginsberg has also written 'Bookshop Adelaide March 14, 1972' at the foot of the title page, and 'Thanks for shipping books' in side the front cover; loosely inserted is a short note he has written on the blank verso of a small sheet of Hotel Adelaide notepaper: 'Miss Payne - the sherry's for you - Allen'.
