Berlin, Ernst Wasmuth A.G., 1910.
A lithograph printed on grey card (400 × 640 mm), with the blind-stamp of Frank Lloyd Wright; a pinhole in both top corners, with slight loss to the right-hand corner tip; tiny crease to the bottom right-hand corner; in excellent condition.
'In 1910-11 the distinguished German architectural publisher Ernst Wasmuth issued a pair of elegant portfolios covering the work of Frank Lloyd Wright to date. Among the most important architectural manifestoes of the twentieth century, the "Wasmuth folios" had enormous influence on the architects of the day, and have since become world famous'. Many copies of the portfolio were destroyed in a fire at Wright's Wisconsin home in August 1914, and many surviving plates suffered water damage. This plate is reproduced as Plate 98 in 'Studies and Executed Buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright' (New York, Rizzoli, 1998): 'House and temple for Unity church, Oak Park, Illinois'.
