Berlin, Ernst Wasmuth A.G., 1910.
A three-colour lithograph printed on grey card (400 × 640 mm), with the blind-stamp of Frank Lloyd Wright; creases to the bottom left-hand corner and the bottom top right-hand corner, well clear of the printed border; in excellent condition.
'In 1910-11 the distinguished German architectural publisher Ernst Wasmuth issued a pair of elegant portfolios covering the work of Frank Lloyd Wright to date. Among the most important architectural manifestoes of the twentieth century, the "Wasmuth folios" had enormous influence on the architects of the day, and have since become world famous'. Many copies of the portfolio were destroyed in a fire at Wright's Wisconsin home in August 1914, and many surviving plates suffered water damage. This plate is reproduced as Plate 100 in 'Studies and Executed Buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright' (New York, Rizzoli, 1998): 'Facade of Unity Temple'.
