Small oblong quarto, 856, [2] (index to advertisements), 13 (advertisements) pages plus 38 colour plates (depicting some 760 distinguishing flags). Loosely inserted is the 'Supplement to the 1932 Edition' (16 pages, a little used).

Gilt-decorated green cloth, all edges gilt; covers slightly scuffed, marked and rubbed; trifling signs of use and age; minimal foxing; an excellent copy.

Both items have the contemporary inkstamp of 'David K. Blair | Surveyor to Lloyd's Register | Wellington NZ'; the front cover of the main work is stamped on gilt 'Surveyor's Office, Wellington'. A year later, in June 1933, Blair gifted the book to one Odin Henry Moller, whose signature is in both items. A much later owner was the well-known NZ book collector, Hardwicke Knight; his bookplate is on the front pastedown.
