Adelaide, Rigby, Limited (for the Committee of the South Australian Children's Patriotic Fund), [1917].

Octavo, 48 pages with 26 illustrations (mainly from photographs) plus text (illustrated by F.C. Britton) on the inside front cover.

Overlapping wood-grained brown wrappers printed in gold, over flush-cut colour-pictorial wrappers (front and rear); covers a little creased, with trifling loss to the ends of the spine and the front top corner of the outer cover; tiny closed tear to one spot on all leading edges (sealed on the covers and a couple of leaves); minimal signs of use and age; overall an excellent copy.

The very small number of copies in Trove (one of which we supplied nearly two decades ago) make no reference to the secondary title, which we have not seen before. Many of the illustrations depict children in patriotic and/or military tableaux or costumes; the two captioned images of children from Point Pearce Mission Station are instructive.
