W.P. Auld (1840-1911) 'was one of the eleven men who went with Stuart on his final expedition, across the continent from Adelaide, in 1861-62 ... It was he who nursed the stricken leader during the greater part of the journey back'. These recollections first appeared as articles in the 'Adelaide Observer' in 1891 and 1904, and the 'Adelaide Register' in 1910 and 1911. Number 25 of only 225 copies of this first edition in book form.
