Presentation set. The first volume is inscribed in the date of issue to Cecil David Mattingley, DFC (and husband of Christobel Mattingley). Beneath the inscription the signatures of the members of the Prince Alfred College First VIII, plus the Cox. A newspaper clipping showing Mattingley with the first VIII, with slightly different members, is loosely inserted. With chapters on the Aborigines of South Australia (39 pages plus an illustration and 2 plates) and New South Wales (24 pages plus a 10-page appendix with 2 tinted plates). Peade A184: 1116 sets.
