Adelaide, Globe Timber Mills, Limited, [circa 1930s].

Octavo, [20] pages (collated as [ii], 17 pages, but page 8 is the entire centrefold) with numerous illustrations (including 16 buildings with floor plans) signed in the artwork by Ainslie Roberts.

Colour-pictorial wrappers a little unevenly sunned; mild signs of use (including some light pencil scribble, most of it successfully erased); a very good copy.

The catalogue features a variety of timber-framed buildings, not just homes. These include a woolshed, a grand-stand, an assembly hall, and a church building. Ainslie Roberts (1911-1993) is widely known for his artwork, particularly as the illustrator of numerous works on Aboriginal myths by Charles Mountford ('simplified, popularised, and radically contracted versions', with the portrayal of Aborigines by Roberts 'cast in romanticised primitivism', according to the 'Australian Dictionary of Biography'). In 1929, Roberts 'became a self-employed commercial artist and a part-time advertising manager for a cinema complex. Roberts started an advertising agency with Keith Webb, an advertising-space salesman in 1937'; this booklet would appear to date from that period of his creative life.
