Coventry, Woven in Silk by Thomas Stevens, Inventor and Manufacturer, [1880s].

An image woven in coloured silk, mounted behind the publisher's original captioned window mat (visible image size 50 × 150 mm), behind glass in a later simple wooden frame (external dimensions 142 × 215 mm).

The piece of silk seems to have shifted slightly to the left behind the mat, exposing a very thin glue-stained strip (a couple of millimetres wide); a few light spots of foxing in the top background; overall in excellent condition.
