Heritage. A Pageant of SA. Sponsored by the Women's Centenary Council [cover title]
Adelaide, Women's Centenary Council, 1936.
Quarto, [16] pages with 10 portrait illustrations (from photographs).
Wrappers with a three-colour plate (the Piping Shrike) tipped in on the front cover; a few light marks and creases; a very good copy.
The programme for the pageant, which commenced on 23 September 1936 at the Tivoli Theatre. Proceeds were 'In Aid of Pioneer Women's Memorial [and the] Aerial Medical Service'. The programme owes a lot of its bulk to the fact that every one of the many participants in every scene is named. Loosely inserted is a roneoed sheet of instructions 'To Parents' of children performing in the pageant (quarto, one page), as well as a contemporary newspaper cutting containing three illustrations from one of the performances (this had previously been inserted in the programme, discolouring the first opening a little).
