[Royal Australian Artillery]

'Ubique. Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt' ['Everywhere. Whither Right and Glory Lead']. A piece of canvas embroidered with the badge design and motto of the Royal Australian Artillery

The design (approximately 380 × 390 mm, in six colours) is worked on a rough-cut piece of unbleached canvas (493 × 450 mm, with two thin blue stripes top and bottom).

The canvas, float-mounted and behind glass in a period-style moulded wooden frame (external dimensions 679 × 627 mm), is slightly marked and foxed, and the embroidery is slightly faded in a few sections; overall, in excellent condition.

The age and origin of this item are unknown, but generally these sorts of one-off souvenirs were handworked in France.
