'In March 1931 the 'Southern Cloud' took off from Mascot airport in Sydney bound for Melbourne with two crew and six passengers; when the Southern Cloud failed to arrive in Melbourne it triggered one of the largest air searches undertaken to that time in Australia, but no trace owas found. 27 years later a carpenter discovered the wreckage' (ABC, 2nd March 2011).
