A tour program signed by Duke Ellington and five members of his orchestra

Quarto, [16] pages with numerous illustrations.

Pictorial wrappers; minor signs of handling and some annotations by the original concert-goer (not affecting the signatures); in excellent condition.

The program is from Ellington's first Australian tour in February 1970. He has signed the front cover with 'Good luck' above his signature. The members of his orchestra who have signed the program are Booty Wood (trombone) and Cat Anderson (trumpet), both in pencil on the front cover; Harry Carney (clarinet and baritone saxophone) and Russell Procope (clarinet and alto saxophone) on page [14]; and Joe Benjamin (bass) on the rear cover. The play list is written in ink and pencil adjacent to the signatures of Carney and Procope. Loosely inserted is an envelope signed by Kym Bonython, who brought Ellington and his orchestra to Australia.
