Adelaide, The Author, 1985.
Tall octavo, xii, 174 pages with illustrations (by Geoff Tyson) and numerous plates.
Colour pictorial card covers; a fine copy.
The title page is signed and dated (15 August 1985) by Sir Edward E. 'Weary' Dunlop (who contributed the foreword, commenting, 'Recently we revisited a grim old gaol at Bandoeng, then called Landsovoedingsgesticht, where we occupied cells at different times'). This copy is also inscribed and signed on the title page by the author, who relates a 'restrained, humorous and reflective account' (Dunlop) of his experiences as a young medical officer and a prisoner of the Japanese in Timor and Java during WW2.
