Folio, [vi], 80, [1] (colophon) numbered pages (many of which are printed verso or recto only) with 13 pages of tables and 40 plates (many of which are detailed line illustrations of superb examples of 'Lighthouse Apparatus, Lanterns and Towers'. Plate 16 has a small amount of original hand-colouring.
Green buckram (with the full title page details in gilt on the front cover) a little unevenly sunned, with the front cover moderately scuffed; edges foxed; minor signs of use and age; a very good copy.
Loosely inserted are two leaves from an 1875 Chance Brothers catalogue. Provenance: the South Australian [Government] Engineering Works Office Library, with its contemporary inkstamp on the first few pages and the blank versos of a few plates.
