Reminiscences of an Adventurous and Chequered Career at Home and at the Antipodes
London, Sampson Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington, 1882.
Octavo, two volumes, xii, 323 and viii, 308, [32] (advertisements, uncut and unopened) pages plus a frontispiece portrait.
Blue cloth (decorated and printed in red) lightly marked and flecked, slightly rubbed and the extremities, and a little sunned on the spines, with a tiny snag to the head of one spine; uncut edges a little foxed, with a few chips where inexpertly opened; front endpaper of the first volume with a large two-digit number in ink, also visible on the verso, along with evidence of an attempt to sponge it out; notwithstanding, sets of this important work are rarely found in such excellent condition.
In his time, the author was Commissioner of Police in South Australia.
